Asia offers some incredible diving opportunities and yet is not normally the first place that one automatically thinks of when considering somewhere to dive with clear warm water and plenty to see. Around the two thousand plus Philippine islands alone there are reputed to be some three thousand species of fish and marine mammals about double the number in the Red Sea plus a vast amount of wreck dives and some truly spectacular coral varieties, enough to overpower the great barrier reef in Australia.
Asia diving is so diverse that it’s impossible to cover all the aspects in an article as short as this but let’s take a quick look at some of the possible countries that one could visit while diving in Asia. If we start in the West in say the Maldives then on to Sri Lanka then long thin Thailand with its miles of coastline, Malaysia, bustling Singapore, the series of islands large and small that make up Indonesia and of course everyone’s darling Bali, going further North, the Philippines, Japan (lots of wreck dives, I wonder why?) and as things settle down in this part of the world there is Cambodia, Vietnam and Taiwan to consider. All considered there are hundreds of thousands of kilometres of coastline and warm clear waters just waiting to be discovered, much of it with very affordable accommodation and flight packages. Tiger divers aims to bring you all the best in diving in Asia with our directory covering all diving matters as well as those all important other features such as flights, hotels, or other accommodation, car hire, and of course some entertainment for those hours when we’re not diving.
